Profile Statement

Cindy was born in Malaysia. She started her ballet and jazz training at the age of 5 in Wendy's Dance Center Malaysia.

In 1989, she participated in the rhythmic gymnastic competition and won the gold medal for free dance and silver medal for overall category. Cindy was chosen to represent Selangor State for an Exchange Programme to Japan organized by the Malaysian Ministry of Culture at the age of 14.

She also has danced in numerous productions and was a freelance professional jazz dancer for Celester Production and the Gig where she mainly performed for the local artists. She completed her Royal Academy of Dance examinations with distinction.

In 1997, she joined the Malaysian Airlines System as an air stewardess for 2 years. She never gave up her dance even though she was flying and decided to take dance as her career and took the opportunity to come to Hong Kong.

Cindy came to Hong Kong and worked with Jean M Wong School Of Ballet from 1999-2006 teaching ballet, jazz and modern creative dance. She obtained her Royal Academy Of Dance teaching certificate with distinction and subsequently her Teaching Qualification in Jazz from the Australian Teachers Of Dancing ( ATOD ).

In 2010, Cindy was accepted by the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD ) as a Mentor for the Certificate Of Ballet Teaching Studies ( CBTS ) mentoring young teachers to become a qualified RAD teachers.

Cindy wishes to pass on her knowledge of dance in all aspects of performing, discipline and the enjoyment of dance to the young generation of dancers to make art as part of their everyday life.
